My Story
My passion for knitting started at the age of 18 when my sister took me to a class she was attending – this one class quickly turned into a hobby that spun itself into my first business “Hey, Diddle Diddle” which coincided with the birth of my first child. Throughout the early years (more than 29 years) I designed and knitted various ready to wear collections and created patterns not only for my own line but also for the Knitting Guild of America’s magazine “Cast On”. Slowly I began adding crochet into my collections after learning from the mother of a dear friend of mine – I am very thankful for the time she took to teach me as most of what I create now centers on crochet.
Most of the inspiration I find comes from the environment around me – the flowers blooming in my backyard, the colour of the pebbles along the beach, the gentle fading an evening sunset, and the people that I interact with daily. Taking the inspiration that catches my eye I pair each design with high quality yarns and fibers including organic eco friendly yarns new this year, of which their texture, colour and feel are unmatched.
As I continue to grow and expand my artistic business, my designs will continue to change and evolve into new and creative pieces. My goal is to design and create beautiful pieces to adorn your wardrobe. I hope my creations add flare to your personal style that will be worn for many seasons to come.
