Tapestry Crochet Adventure #3: Oh Christmas Tree! Adding a touch of Christmas to my home.

Tapestry Crochet Adventure #3: Oh Christmas Tree how beautiful your branches… I love decorating my home at Christmas each year. Handmade decorations are my favourite ones to add that Christmas charm. I have been making Christmas decorations or themed items since I was a young girl. My mother and I made these pinecone bird ornaments one year and sold them at a local market. After that I was inspired to make Christmas items each year. Last year I made a bunch of crocheted Christmas ornaments for our tree. This year I was inspired to add some new items to my Christmas decor and since I was working on my Tapestry Crochet Adventure it was the perfect technique to use.

The first item I made was these beautiful Christmas Tree Pot Holders:

Potholders make wonderful gifts for people on your list or add a Christmas touch to your kitchen. I enjoyed this pattern so much I made 2 for someone else so I could make it again as well as some for our kitchen. I have made several of her other designs and found using these small patterns were the perfect way to practice my Tapestry Crochet technique.

Oh, Christmas Tree pillow was inspired by a free chart I found on the internet. Changed the stitch count to achieve the size I wanted and began crocheting. On the back of the pillow, I add more rows and some buttons and buttonholes to finish.

Tapestry crochet is really enjoyable and I can’t wait to show you more. I hope I can inspired you to try it out. Working on a new project that should be ready to post next weekend. Have a wonderful day! Happy crocheting!
