Elegant Lace Hand Warmer Crochet Pattern

The Elegant Lace Hand Warmers features an elegant lace design with a modern essence in the ribbed stripe accent on the wrist area of the hand warmers. Lovely lace design to keep your hands cozy and warm with an elegant lace design. Two sizes are available including a regular length and a longer length. Designed with sock/fingerling weight yarn so you can wear it in most seasons. The hand warmers can also be made in a solid colour, multiple colours on each row, two toned colours, hand painted yarns or a solid coloured yarn to suit your wardrobe and style.

Easy to crochet design perfect to make in a weekend. Great for gifts or just for yourself.

Shown in Tough Love Sock from SweetGeorgia Yarns in the Snowfall (gray) colour way and the Bubble Wand (ivory speckled) colour. Other great sock yarns are Malabrigo Sock yarn, Cascade Heritage yarn, Paintbox Yarns Sock, Berroco Sock, Noro Silk Garden sock and many other sock or fingerling weight yarns.

Finished Measurements:
Measurements with finishing trim: The width is 7 inches around, 17.75 cm for both sizes. The length is 7.25 inches, 18.4 cm for the regular length and 8.25 inches, 21 cm for the longer length.

YARN: You can use most sock weight/fingerling weight yarns for this scarf.
Yarn needed: 1 skein of the base colour (425 yd / 388 m per 4 oz / 115 g per skein). One skein makes 2 hand warmers or 1 hand warmer and 1 Elegant Lace Scarf (Neck Warmer style) available on my Etsy store and Ravelry. Shown in Tough Love Sock from SweetGeorgia Yarns.

HOOKS & NOTIONS
B -1 US / 2 – 2.25 mm crochet hook. Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

GAUGE
Gauge is 5.5 sts and 4 rows in hdc = 1” / 2.5 cm.

Valerie has been designing and creating knitwear for various boutiques and galleries, as well as pattern writing for over 25 years. Originally designing knitted pieces and knitting patterns she now designs mostly in crochet. Valerie ventured into the world of fibre art in 2012, creating pieces with an art and design essence. While continuing to create and design she has been pattern writing once again, sharing her ideas with you to enjoy.

The Elegant Rose collection is a great addition to any wardrobe and can be made with beautiful neutrals as shown or add colour with the base one colour and the flowers and leaves another. For the Elegant Rose Collection I used beautiful yarn from Sweetgeorgia Yarns in the worsted weight yarn. Most other worsted weight yarns will work for this design. Try a hand painted effect with solid coloured roses to pop the floral accent or a beautiful neutral colour as shown for an elegant touch. The inspiration for these designs is a walk through a rose garden enjoying a beautiful warm day and to keep these memories near to warm you on the colder days of winter. The design on the base of the pieces is inspired by the stone tracery of Gothic Architecture of the past on beautiful cathedrals and buildings. These buildings were often embellished with beautiful stone tracery of leaves, flowers and vines. I love adding an architectural essence to my designs.

Stained Glass Arm Warmers

Stained Glass series is a collection I have been working on this year in relation to my Architectural Design Project.  The Stained Glass panel beside the traditional style was also made by myself years ago. I loved making the Stained Glass then and always want to design some with yarn.

The Gothic Cathedrals of the past adorn many amazing Stained Glass windows that add colour to the stone walls.  I have designed two versions so far with a beige stone coloured base and a more contemporary feel on one style and a traditional essence with an ivory base and brighter Stained Glass on this style.  The beige contemporary version has rod iron that surrounds the glass window gently sewn in beside the stained glass panels in the center in a subtle manner.  The ivory traditional style has a bold colour way with the rod iron place one either side of the window panel in a stronger essence to go with the more bold traditional design.

There will be more colours coming soon.

They are also available soon at the Alberta Craft Council in both Edmonton and Calgary, see their website for addresses.  I have many one of a kind designs including scarves, and hand warmers at these two locations.
