Christmas Rose scarves add that special touch to the holidays and can be worn after as well. I wanted to add a special scarf with hand warmers coming later this week to add a Christmas Cheer to your day. I love Christmas as my mother always made is such a special time of year so I felt it fitting to add the roses from her Rose Onie Scarves I designed in memory of her. She was the most incredible woman I have ever met and I was extremely fortunate that she was my mom!! I miss and love you mom! At Christmas it always feel like she is here with us as we continue many of the Christmas moments she began and enjoy the wonderful memories of the past while making new ones along the way. Take the time this year to love those around you and spend time with them. They are the ones that matter the most and truly the best gifts you will ever receive!
Treasured Hearts…Valentines Scarf and Fingerless Gloves set. The other day I was thinking about designing something for each holiday of the year, just for fun. Valentines being the next one in line I went to my yarn stash and started looking over the many different colours I could choose for this Holiday of Love. After deciding to go with a classic colour way of black and red I grabbed my knitting needles and began a special Valentines Scarf and Hand Warmer set. This design has a more contemporary feel to the overall piece with the accent “flower” in a broche style so you can wear this scarf with or without the broche.
In keeping with the Valentines theme the Floral Hearts broche is made with 5 hearts together to form the back petals of the flower. This way the hearts for Valentines are incorporated, but the design can be worn anytime of the year since they form a flower. The Floral Hearts scarf becomes a versatile and multi use scarf, but has an underlying surprise with hearts for the petals.
I couldn’t design a new Valentines Holiday scarf without adding something to compliment the piece. The Treasured Hearts hand warmers use the same heart I designed for the Floral Heart broche. A bling button adorns the centre of the heart. The Valentines theme on the hand warmers are more obvious.
Off I go to finish a set of these two new pieces in my designs in a nice dark grey with the red. They will both be posted on my Etsy store at www.intricateknits.etsy.com . The Valentines Flora Hearts scarf and Treasured Hearts hand warmers are also available in other colours.
Valentines fever is not over, I am currently working on a large window display with a Valentines theme for the Art Gallery of St. Albert. Pop by soon to see my progress on this project. Have a most wonderful day!
Here are a few pictures of the new Eclectic Essence Floral scarf and hand warmers. This was again a custom order by a return customer. She happened to be my first order on Etsy and I was honoured to see her come back for a second batch of my designs. 🙂 This design is my Eclectic Essence set that I brought out last fall, but they were in hand painted colours of purples, blues, orange etc. My customer wanted a black background with red and green accents. I loved the idea right away and off I went to see what I would become. I like how it turned out as the colours add an even more eclectic feel to the overall design, at least in my opinion.
I enjoy making custom orders as it combines both my ideas and the customers into one design. Makes the outcome more special and exciting to see along the way. I must run and get back to working on more of these pieces. Have a wonderful day today.
What’s New…Rose Onie Scarf Collection in new colours. Just a peek into what I have been busy designing in the last few weeks. These Rose Onie designs are all custom orders from wonderful clients that wanted to add their own inspiration and style to my Rose Onie Design. The darker ones give a wonderful eclectic feel to this sculptural design.
I love enhancing and changing my designs to be specific for the person who will be wearing them. Makes the design a little more special for that person and another way for me to be inspired by their choices as well. I love the challenge that custom work gives me, like trying to solve a puzzle. As my family
would attest, I love puzzles especially the last piece you put in and finally complete it. That is how I feel when I am designing! Nothing better than finishing that designing puzzle and seeing the complete finished piece. Addictive for sure!
As I have said before you never know where you inspiration will come from. Keep your eyes and ears open for something new to discover and try.
